The Birthday Girl!

Well, our baby girl is has hit the one year mark. It is beyond hard to believe that twelve months have flown by so quickly. We had a small party with her on Saturday night with my mom's side and Steve's parents. Both of my brothers and mom's husband, Kevin, have a birthday within one week of Maddie, so it was a shared celebration. Maddie was pooped, but she lit up when she realized we were singing to her. Then she proceeded to smoosh her cupcake in her hands and smear it on her head. As usual, she was the star of the show. She was in the bath and then onto bed before her guests left, but I guess the Birthday Girl can do as she pleases! On Sunday we celebrated with my dad's family. There was no cake smearing, but there was an enormous cake. We had a really nice time celebrating with everyone.

Oooo, I love cake! Maybe it will help my hair grow if I smear it on my head!

All three of us have been battling some kind of dreadful cold. Maddie had a cold at the end of January, which I proceeded to get, which was given to Steve, which came back to Maddie, which is currently annoying both Stephen and myself. AAAHHHH! I just don't think it is ever going to go away. I was called last week to pick up Maddie for a fever and then they called again today. I personally think it is a combination of her teeth and vaccinations, but I picked her up anyway. She was an absolute bear, so I don't blame daycare for wanting me to take her away. From what I can tell, she is working on her third molar and another incisor. This will put the count up to eleven teeth. She'll be eating corn on the cob this summer!

She may be sick, but there is always enough energy for peek-a-boo!
(...and eat paper, but that is another story.)

Lookin', feelin', smellin' like a million bucks! She got the beads for her birthday; if she is awake, they are around her neck. It might have been the best $2.84 I have ever spent.
