Here's our boy! I went to the doctor today for a check-up and an ultrasound to check on Charlie's size. All looks perfect so far. He is a big boy, weighing in at 5 pounds 13 ounces, which is the 83rd percentile. For perspective, an average 33 week old baby would weigh around 4 pounds. My amniotic fluid levels were a little high, so I'll have another ultrasound and check-up next week to monitor that. If he continues to grow as he has been and how a normal baby should (1/2 a pound a week), he will be 8 pounds by the 2nd week of February. No matter how you look at it, the doctor said he thought Charlie would arrive at least a week early. That sounds good to me, because I am absolutely miserable. The doctor even reassured me that I am not a wimp and I have every right to be uncomfortable.
That is Maddie on the right at one day old. It isn't the picture I wanted (it is the only picture I already had on this computer), but I think her little brother looks just like she did. That works out well, because we think she is pretty cute.
I haven't posted any updates from Maddie's Christmas, but she had a great time. Santa was very good to her, as were her grandparents. Steve was able to get two days off that we weren't expecting, so we had lots of quality time at home. That made us happy, even if it sounds pretty boring to everyone else. Maybe I'll get around to posting some pictures in the next couple of weeks, but don't hold your breath. It sounds like I'll be hustling to get my school work ready for maternity leave!
