New at this!

Okay, everyone. I'm getting older and less tech-savvy every day. Please remember this as I learn how to write a blog! I decided that way too many people are interested in us (by us, I mean Maddie) and it will just be easier to have one place where people can check in. If those said people decide they are no longer interested, they can stop looking. It will save them the trouble of deleting my emails. Many of you wanted me to do Facebook, but enough of the people I know don't use social networking. Sorry!

Now to the good stuff. Madeleine has grown by leaps and bounds since I last sent an update. From 6 to 8 months has been a very busy time for a little girl. She has gone through a major growth spurt, but she is still pretty dainty. She has started vocalizing in lots of new ways. One of my favorites is 'oy'. I think she is Jewish. Steve thinks Australian. 'Ba' and 'da' are still big ones. She is crawling as fast as lightning, which is old news. The new stuff is that she is pulling up on anything she can get her hands on. She acts like it is no big deal and doesn't seem to put forth much effort in getting to her feet. I've seen her do the 'jungle book' crawl a few times (on her hands and feet for those of you not familiar with Disney movies). I really think she'll walk by 9 months, but she surprises me all of the time with what she decides to do.

As if she weren't hard enough to take a picture of, now she is always on the move!

8 months

We've been to the pumpkin patch and her first fall parades. Adorable as ever, she waved at the people in the parades, especially the queens. Do I see tiaras in our future? I hope not! :)

She is trying very hard to get in her top two teeth. Thanks to a pull-up adventure gone ary that ended with a face-plant to the floor this morning, one of them is poking through a little. I hope they make it through before our trip to Florida. We have a lot of people to meet and she's not in the best of moods these days. I can't say I blame her. It must be hard being a baby!

We are getting ready to take our first trip on an airplane. Steve's cousin is getting married on Halloween in Orlando. I'm not worried about the trip for our sake. I'm worried about the other passengers. I know she isn't the first baby to fly, but she better be the best! Her parents have high expectations. Poor girl.

Who needs the pie?
