Florida Foxes

We went to Florida for a week. The trip down was a all-nighter. It was exhausting, but we made it. We spent the next few days touching base in the usual places....Lakeland, Orlando, and Melbourne Beach Shores. We had family meals, a trip to Sea World, and visits to the beach. The absolute joy on Maddie's face as she ran up and down on the beach made me a little misty. She ran and jumped and picked up EVERY shell in her path. It was really too cold to swim in the ocean, but the waves did get us wet. One afternoon we went to the tide pool at Sebastian Inlet. Stephen caught her a little hermit crab and Maddie found a dead fish. Yeah for the tide pool! On the second to last night there, Maddie came down with a high fever and a 'sore mouth', aka - throat. We got her some meds to set her on the right path, but when she is sick, she is cranky. It was a long ride home, for sure.

I think her favorite part of Sea World was this piece of chocolate cake. It was delicious!

Charlie taking in the sites. Most people regret taking two kids under the age of three to theme parks, but ours were amazingly good. Other than one little meltdown in the line for food, they were both great....they must want to go back!

Maddie got to touch the sting rays. If you ask her, they were very soft and smooth.
